The ektorp was designed to have a shabby chic appeal and i won t be surprised if ikea phases it out of their line in the next few years.

Ikea ektorp sofa recliner. Design wise the ektorp is perfect for classic sofa lovers with limited design space to work with. With strong seams removable cushions and washable covers this is a durable sofa series that can withstand the wear and tear of life day after day year after year. The rounded edges and wonderful softness of our ektorp loose cover sofas are not to be underestimated.

But for us that s okay. The ektorp sofa styling is classic and the changeable covers were a stroke of genius. Ektorp is the definition of a classic armchair easily found on american sitcoms in the 90s and we see it today in many victorian homes still. If you really want it to look showroom pretty you will have to iron the slipcover regularly and pay really close attention to how you fluff the pillows.

Unfortunately the ektorp can be quite disappointing especially in the armrest region. We had to pay 100 in shipping and there was a bit of a fiasco with receiving our order in a prompt manner but once our packages arrived assembly was super simple. I never worry about the three grandchildren having accidents. It is adjustable to three positions and comes with an inbuilt footstool.

We re on the short side 5 1 and 5 7 5 and find it to be comfortable. While sitting use your back to press against the backrest it lowers and the footstool lifts up. Its streamlined sleek and toned down look makes it the ultimate sofa for any living room. The seat and back cushions however were all woefully under stuffed.

I purchased 4 covers and i do a changeover with each change of season. By that i mean that the backs are pretty low. If this sounds like what you are looking for i think you are going to love ektorp as well. Muren recliner take a seat in muren recliner and get a pleasant surprise.
